Mumia Abu-Jamal is an innocent political prisoner, framed for a crime he didn’t commit, and now in his 28th year of incarceration on death row.

A special benefit is being held here this evening to hear:

Pam Africa, spokeswoman for the Concerned Family and Friends of Mumia Abu-Jamal;

Fred Hampton Jr, Co-Founder and Chairperson of the Prisoners of Conscience Committee (POCC), and son of the assassinated Black Panther leader;

Ramona Africa, survivor of the 1985 police bombing of the MOVE house in Philadelphia, former political prisoner, and member of the MOVE organization;

JR , Co-Founder, organizer, and Minister of Information for POCC and Block Report Radio, Associate editor of the SF Bay View, and one of the last defendants in the Oakland 100 case;

Jack Heyman, Executive Board Member of Local 10 of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU), member of the Labor Action Committee To Free Mumia Abu-Jamal, and organizer of the ILWU West Coast ports shutdown to free Mumia in 1999;

Francisco Torres, the last remaining defendant in the SF 8 case — he will give us an update on the case;

and

Pierre Labossierre of the Haiti Action Committee will give us an update on Haiti.

A Sneak Preview of: “OPERATION SMALL AXE,” will be presented with the POCC Minister of Information JR and director Adimu Madyun on hand.

This program on Mumia will benefit Prison Radio, the non-profit organization that records and produces the voice of Mumia Abu-Jamal, “the voice of the voiceless.”
