World AIDS Day 2010

Activism, Sex, and Human Rights

Presented by Sonia Rastogi

Women Organized to Respond to Life-Threatening Disease (WORLD) invites everyone to come to this informative event and learn about how HIV affects our entire community and what we can do to make change! The U.S. and the East Bay are 30 years into the AIDS epidemic! At 5:00 pm, WORLD will show the 2009 film: Sex in an Epidemic by Jean Carlomusto from Outcast Films. Then from 6:15 pm — 7:00 pm they will bring together a panel and facilitate a discussion of the film. This important film is an award-winning documentary that looks at the sociocultural context of the history of this AIDS epidemic. The panel will be a diverse group of local leaders with unique perspectives and insights on how HIV affects our communities in Oakland and the East Bay.

This event is free and everyone is welcome! WORLD will serve delicious refreshments and light bites through the evening. You may RSVP for this event at: pwn@womenhiv.org.
