Loaded Visions
By Antero Alli
– appearing in person
These are original experimental short videos — not videotaped poetry readings — that use poetry as oblique narratives as a way of invoking the spirits dwelling in the texts themselves. If tribal shamans created content for television, these videopoems might be construed as their brand of commercials. This is a list of the poems that are used:
Book of Questions – (1993; 6 minutes) text by
Pablo Neruda
Cold Force – (1994; 4 minutes) text by
Antero Alli
Witch Burning – (1998; 4 minutes) text by
Sylvia Plath
A.A. Anti-Philosopher – (1999; 4 minutes) text by
Tristan Tzara
Mouvement – (2001; 4 minutes) and Fairy – (2001; 4 minutes) text by
Arthur Rimbaud
D.U.I. – (1991; 8 minutes) and The Word, Weird – (1993; 6.5 minutes) text by
Antero Alli
Some Pass this Way – (1994; 8 minutes) text by
Sean Blosl
Lily in Limbo – (1996; 27 minutes) poetry by
Hilda Doolittle (H.D.)
