Humanist Hall is located on 27th Street between Telegraph and Broadway in midtown Oakland, California, below Pill Hill.  There is on-street parking on 27th Street but with a 2-hour limit on weekdays and there is a County parking lot on the west side of the building but only available for parking nights and weekends.

  Directions by BUS and by BART


 

BUS:   Take  the 1 Bus going up or down Telegraph Avenue.  Get off at 27th Street.  Walk 1/2 block eastward on 27th, toward the Oakland hills.  Humanist Hall is in the middle of the block on the north side of the street between Telegraph Avenue and Broadway.  It is the small, brown-shingled wooden building with red doors and yellow pillars at the top of a flight of green stairs.

 
BUS:   Take the 51 Bus going up or down Broadway.  Get off at 27th Street.  Walk 1/2 block westward on 27th, toward the ocean.  Humanist Hall is in the middle of the block on the north side of the street between Broadway and Telegraph Avenue.  It is the small, brown-shingled, wooden building with red doors and yellow pillars at the top of a flight of green stairs.


 

BART:  Take the BART to the 19th Street Station in downtown Oakland.  Then walk 8 blocks north up Telegraph Avenue or Broadway to 27th Street.  Then walk 1/2 block on 27th Street between Telegraph Avenue and Broadway until you reach 390, the small, brown-shingled wooden building with red doors and yellow pillars at the top of a flight of green stairs.
 

BART:  Take the BART to the 19th Street Station in downtown Oakland.   Then take  either  the
1 Bus up Telegraph Avenue or the 51 Bus up Broadway.  Get off the Bus at 27th Street.  Then walk 1/2 block on 27th Street between Telegraph Avenue and Broadway until you reach 390, the small, brown-shingled wooden building with red doors and yellow pillars at the top of a flight of green stairs.

From the San Francisco Peninsula:
•
Take I-80 East towards Oakland across the Bay Bridge.
•
Merge onto I-580 East towards
CA-24/Downtown Oakland.
•
Take the I-980 West exit towards Downtown Oakland.

 
•
Take the Grand Avenue/27th Street exit and turn left onto 27th Street.
 

From the North (Richmond):

•
Take I-580 East towards Oakland.
•
Take the I-980 West exit towards Downtown Oakland.
•
Take the Grand Avenue/27th Street exit and turn left onto 27th Street.
 

From the South (San Jose):

•
Take I-880 North toward Oakland.
•
Exit towards Broadway and turn right onto Broadway.
•
Turn right on 27th Street
 

From the East (Walnut Creek):

•
Take CA-24 West toward Oakland.
•
CA-24 West becomes I-980 West

•

Take the 27th Street exit and turn left on 27th Street

From the Southeast (Castro Valley):
•
Take I-580 West towards Oakland.
•
Take the I-980 exit towards
I-880/Downtown Oakland.
•
Take the 27th Street exit and turn left onto 27th Street.
